Department of Computer Engineering organized a online expert talk of Industry 4.0 & Student’s Career on 30/03/2024 at Computer Engineering Department by Alumni Interaction & Mentoring Support (AIMS) Series with Mr. Rajesh Pahadi, Head of Operations, Innovations, iFactory& Digital Transformation projects at center for Industry 4.0 (SAMARTH Udyog Technology Forum) under aegis of Ministry of Heavy Industries.

संगणक अभियंत्रण विभाग द्वारा प्रथम वर्ष छात्रों के लिये Internship कार्यशाला Electronics Service & Training Centre (ESTC), Kaniya, Ramnagar के साथ आयोजन दिनांक 10.06.2024


दिनांक 10.06.2024 को Electronics Service & Training Centre (ESTC), Kaniya, Ramnagar द्वारा प्रथम वर्ष छात्रों के लिये एक Internship कार्यशाला आयोजित की गयी, जिसमें Shri. Satish Chandra Kandpal, Training and Placement Officer, Shri. Nayanjyoti Talukdar, Scientific Officer, एवं Ms. Pragya Joshi, Jr. Science Officer आयोजित वर्कशाप में उपस्थित थे। उन्होंने अपने संस्था द्वारा दिये जा रहे ट्रेनिंग एवं Internship प्रोग्राम के विषयों पर प्रस्तुतिकरण दिया एवं छात्रों के प्रश्नों के जबाब दिये। छात्रों ने विभिन्न प्रोग्रामों पर रूचि दिखाई एवं मुख्यता Python Programming, Java Programming, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, IoT, SCADA विषयों पर अपनी Internship करने की रूचि जाहिर की।

इस कार्यक्रम में श्री नयनज्योति तालुकदार जी द्वारा IoT पर एक Techno Talk प्रस्तुत किया गया, जिसमें उन्होंने IoT के बारे में वर्तमान के विभिन्न उपयोगों जैसे Smart City, Smart Homes एवं Smart Agriculture के बारे में तकनीकि प्रस्तुतिकरण दिया। इस कार्यशाला में संगणक अभियंत्रण विभाग से डॉ0 एस0डी0 सामन्तराय, प्राध्यापक एवं विभागाध्यक्ष, डॉ0 पी0के0 मिश्रा, सह-प्राध्यापक एवं कु0 राजश्री आदि उपस्थित थे।




SENSEnuts Pro Lab Kit training organized in the Seminar of the Department of Computer Engineering on 24.03.23 and 25.03.23


A technical training on SENSEnuts Pro Lab Kit was organized in the Seminar Room of the Department of Computer Engineering on 24.03.23 and 25.03.23. Mr. Rajeshwar Singh and Mr. Kumar Aniket from Eigen Technologies Pvt. Ltd. provided the training on day 1 (24.03.23). In the First session Mr. Rajeshwar Singh delivered the lecture on Introduction of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), Internet of Things (IoT), IEEE 802.15.4, Adhoc Networks, Routing Protocols and applications of WSNs. In the session 2, he concentrated upon topics including Introduction to SENSEnuts kit, Applications of SENSEnuts Platform, Directory Structure of SENSEnuts setup, Code Structure of SENSEnuts platform, Libraries and their functionality and Introduction to SENSEnuts GUI.

On day 2 (24.03.23) Mr. Kumar Aniket and Ms. Pragya Jaiswal from Eigen Technologies Pvt. Ltd. provided the training. In their sessions, they targeted practical oriented approach in which they demonstrated before the participants - the compiling of application codes, implementation of SENSEnuts Demos, LED Blinking example, reading sensor values, Wireless broadcast, connecting SENSEnuts platform to WiFi, controlling Radio Modules using WiFi, connecting SENSEnuts platform to cloud etc. The student participants also tried these experiments using SENSEnuts Pro Lab Kit modules.

Around 40 students and faculty members from Computer Engineering Department, E&C Department, EE Department and IT Department attended the training.




One Day Seminar “Tech Talks: Scaling Education To Industries. How universities can be a breathing space for innovation.” on 17th January 2023


Description:

  • The seminar was held in online mode through google meet on 17th January 2023 from 4:00-5:00 pm IST. The seminar focussed on how students can be involved in industry application. The programme started at 4:00pm with the welcome address by Mr. Rajneesh Kumar. Opening remarks and introduction of the program was given by Prof. S.D. Samantaray. He highlighted how the strong network of alumni can help the students build skillset needed by industry. He also emphasized on creating a student group comprising of like-minded students who will hone their skills with the help of alumni.
  • The key note address was given by Mr. Parth Sharma. He is currently heading the domains like mental health, AI in medicine, teaching robotics with arts and dance, space medicine by leveraging robotics, AI, App/web development, Medicine, and Astrophysics - Aerospace engineering.
  • The keynote speaker Mr. Parth Sharma started the seminar with the agenda of leveraging the knowledge and resources of the university to equip students for high tech industries out in the world. The speaker shared his experience being an entrepreneur, working in projects like “Rebot” at the Koppel Project and “Neurons4Vet”.
  • The speaker discussed the various problems like not getting proper internships, absence of industry-university interaction, unrealistic expectation of students, etc. Talking about the solution for the underlying problems the speaker gave basic steps like joining the industry cell, top down approach of learning and publishing the work.

  • Finally, Prof. S.D. Samantaray summarised the seminar by explaining how we can use remote learning to connect the alumni with university students. He welcomed all the interested students to connect with alumni through the various projects and internships. The seminar wrapped up around 5:05 pm IST. The vote of thanks was given by Prof. S.D. Samantaray.

  • Conclusion:

    The seminar focused on the issues faced by students in scaling their education to industry. The speaker discussed various ways a student can overcome these problems. The speaker gave students a chance to connect with him through various projects and internships, so that students can become industry ready. He also ensured students of his availability for mentoring.


    Report On Webinar With Tripti Agarwal (Computer Engineering, Batch-1996)

    On 23rd December 2022, members of Alumni Cell Computer Engineering Department, Pantnagar organized a webinar with Tripti Agarwal, an alumna of the Computer Engineering batch of 1996 under the guidence of Dr. S.D. Samantaray, Head of Department, Computer Engineering. Tripti Agarwal is the co-founder of Go Bud Go, an intelligence-driven learning platform. She also holds three patents at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and works for Cisco and Hughes Software Systems. The seminar was attended by students, faculty and staff members of the Computer Engineering Department.

    The seminar began with an introduction to the Tripti Agarwal. She shared her journey from being a student to a successful entrepreneur. She discussed the latest trends in technology, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT). She talked about how these technologies are revolutionizing the industry and creating new opportunities for innovation.

    She also discussed the challenges faced by companies in adopting new technologies, such as lack of expertise, resistance to change, and high costs. She provided examples of companies that successfully adopted new technologies and reaped the benefits.

    Tripti Agarwal then shared her experience of starting her own company and the challenges she faced. She talked about the importance of having a strong team, building a network, and being passionate about the idea. She emphasized that entrepreneurship is not easy and requires a lot of hard work, perseverance, and patience.

    The seminar was interactive, and concluded with a Q&A session, where the attendees asked the alumna questions related to entrepreneurship, higher education, internships, placements and their experience as an alumni of our college. The questions ranged from the trending technologies in the job market to the best degree to pursue after graduation. The co-founder provided valuable insights and advice to the audience, inspiring them to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact on society.

    In conclusion, the web seminar with Tripti Agarwal was a great success. It provided an opportunity for the participants to learn from an accomplished technologist and gain insights into the latest trends in technology. Tripti's knowledge, experience, and insights will undoubtedly inspire and motivate the participants to pursue their careers in technology.

    The inaugural cum launching programme and awareness workshop in Title: Assessment of MOOCs & Digital Learning courses related to CSE was conducted on 18/12/2019 Committee Room, Dean CT, College of Technology. Dr. J. P Pandey was the chief guest at this event. The Regular and TEQIP-III faculties from department of Computer Engineering, the department of Information Technology and EQIP-III coordinator CoT, Pantnagar attended this event. In the workshop the nodal officer briefed the faculties about available online learning platforms as well as courses offered by the same. The following was the schedule for the entire event.
